These are the 3 concepts we prototyped on paper.
Concept 1: 3 open compartments for books and paper and objects of that sort and 2 cabinets for other objects so that nothing will fall out.
Concept 2: 2 open copartments to hol books and paper and 2 cabinets that allow more organized storage.
Concept 3: 3 open compartments, 1 large and 2 small ones to hold paper books staplers and other items and a table on the side to hold things for quick and easy access.
Here's the design matrix we used to help decide on our best option
1) My partner, Terry, and I are supposed to create a desk organizer with the dimensions of 10x12x8 inches or smaller that will reduce clutter and increase organization.
2) We chose the desk organizer because it seemed to be the easiest and the least complicated.
3) Step 1 is answered in number 1.
Step 2: We came up with three designs but decided to use one of them because it seemed to be the best solution to the problem.
Step 4: Criteria: create a desk organizer
constraints: Has to have 8x10x12 inch dimensions and have 5 different parts. Must be able to hold 6 things insisde of it.
